On our second evening at Susie Lake, I killed time before dinner by fishing from our campsite again. I caught one nice brookie, who hit the lure like a ton of bricks. These alpine trout mean business!
That was it for the fishing part of the trip. We did have two more days of hiking through beautiful country, but that did not leave any more time for angling.
Our last night at Susie, we had a visitor in the wee hours. A bear came and prowled right next to our tent. That really interrupted our sleep cycle!
Eventually, we drifted back to sleep, with glad thoughts of the care we had put into hanging our food in the bear bag.
